Ina Garten, best-known for her show Barefoot Contessa, has been wowing audiences all over again with Cook Like a Pro. Cook Like a Pro, a continuation of Barefoot Contessa, airs on Food Network and recently wrapped its second season. Much to the delight of fans of Barefoot Contessa, Garten is on deck to host a third season, set to premiere October 21st.
Ina Garten and Food Network
Believe it or not, Food Network’s longest-running show is Barefoot Contessa. The popular cooking show first aired way, way back in 2002. Sixteen years later and Ina Garten is still going strong! The show’s unique setting, within Ina’s house, and focus on hosting guests made it a huge hit.
Ina’s style is primarily focused on French cuisine, with an emphasis on deconstructing complex recipes. Her focus leans heavily towards cooking efficiently and maximizing one’s time in the kitchen. This is to allow for more time spent with guests while still providing an excellent meal.
Cook Like a Pro
As a continuation of Barefoot Contessa, Cook Like a Pro is largely a successor to the show it follows. However, in Cook Like a Pro, much more attention is given to the art of cooking itself. Preparing delicious and stylish meals is the main crux of the show. This is in contrast to Barefoot Contessa, which also offered advice on things like home décor and entertaining guests.
Additionally, Cook Like a Pro has had a star-studded selection of guests on the show with Ina. As such, the show generally has a less formal and more “prime-time” feel than its predecessor.
Season 3 of Cook Like a Pro is set to air October 21st. It will be followed two days later with a cookbook of the same name! Much like the prior seasons, this season is set to have a ton of special guests. Confirmed to be appearing on the show are stars like Jennifer Garner, Emily Blunt and Nigella Lawson. We don’t know about you, but we’re excited to see Ina Garten back for the next season!
