It’s no wonder so many people love Guy Fieri. He’s not only a great chef and entrepreneur – he also has a heart of gold! He’s at it again with his philanthropic efforts by feeding first responders of the devastating wildfires in California.
Meals for the People
It’s not the first time Fieri has stepped in to help with natural disasters by doing what he does best – cooking. In October 2017 he fed barbecue to thousands of wildfire evacuees in Santa Rosa, California. He also helped the Red Cross feed people this past July who were escaping another fire in Redding, California.
Guy Fieri experienced the evacuations first hand in 2017 when he and his family were forced to evacuate their own home during the Santa Rosa fires. His home was ok, but a nearby neighborhood in Coffee Park was destroyed.
Current California Wildfires
Fieri provided pulled pork, as well as a number of side dishes at the law enforcement staging area in Northern California. The Butte County sheriff is ringing praises on Twitter saying, “Thank you so much Guy for filling our bellies and lifting our spirits.”
Guy also composed his own tweet saying, “In today’s tumultuous world, it’s amazing to see our fire fighters, military, law enforcement and first responders come together to rescue our communities devastated by fire. So many great people stepping up to take care of one another #ProudAmerican #CampFire”
He’s not the only celebrity making sure our heroes are fed. The lead singer and guitarist for the Foo Fighters is providing free barbecue at Fire Station 68 in Calabasas, California. The firefighters there are working to contain the Woosley fire which has already affected homes and businesses in Los Angeles, California.
A tweet by firestation68 read, “It was awesome to get a visit tonight from Dave Grohl of the @foofighters. He also treated us to some of his own @backbeatbbq. Thanks Dave! It was excellent!”
