Today, we’re going to be making a delicious honey grilled salmon filet! If you’re looking for something bright, crisp and filling for the dog days of summer, this is for you! This dish pairs great with a number of fresh, filling sides. Some of our favorites to pair it with are white rice, green beans and sautéed mixed veggies! Well, that’s enough talk of sides, let’s get into the main course!
What You’ll Need
- 4 6-ounce salmon filets
- Kosher Salt
- Black pepper
- 1 scallion
- 2 limes
- 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
- Ginger root
- 2 teaspoons of soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1/4 teaspoon black sesame seeds
How to Make It
Get the grill preheated to about medium to high heat and then oil the grates. While that’s heating up, chop the scallion into small pieces, and then grate about a tablespoon of the ginger. One these are both ready, mix them with the vegetable oil and season them to taste with the salt and pepper.
Now, get the salmon filets ready by cutting two slits lengthwise along the bottom. They should go about halfway into the salmon and be around two-and-a-half-inches long. Then, place the herb mixture in the slits and season the salmon to taste.
Cut one of the limes and squeeze its juice into a large bowl. Then, mix in the soy sauce and honey. Next, place the salmon on the grill with the skin facing up. Cook the salmon for about 3 ½ minutes, until the marks are well defined, then turn it. Now, brush the honey sauce on the salmon and cook them for about 3 ½ more minutes. After that, they should be done!
Once the salmon filets are ready, transfer them to serving plates. Cut the other lime into small wedges to garnish the salmon. This dish pairs excellently with salty, savory drinks like Bloody Mary’s and margaritas. We hope you enjoy this delicious recipe!
